| |
Worldstock is pleased to bring you a fresh look at Shona sculpture through the work of Fabian and Albert Chipanera. Let this opal stone Family of Four sculpture breathe new life into your home's decor. Gladman Zinyeka, a student of Lazarus Takawira, the world-renowned first generation Shona sculptor, trained the artisans in Harare. Their unique and interesting work is inspired by their dreams and what they see happening daily in their lives. The two brothers specialize in renditions of the classic mother and child theme, which for them, is an expression of a mother's love for her child and the bond that exists between the two. They also enjoy carving sculptures of young children. Fabian says, 'Kids are always happy and love to play. They make me smile and that's why I love to carve them.' Fabian and Albert are originally from Chirimanzu and currently work in the small town of Chivhu south of Harare. Their ambition is to be known throughout the world and to become a household name like Dominic Benhura. The handcrafted nature of this product will produce minor differences in color and sizing. Subtle shade variations will occur from piece to piece, adding to its unique qualities. Measurements are approximate.
